Today Ted, Max and I drove over to Otay Lake to take a look at the Helldiver that was raised from the Lake. The WWII Helldiver crashed into the Lower Otay Lake on May 28, 1945. The pilot and gunner both survived the crash, swam to shore and hitch hiked back to their base in South Bay! The plane was discovered a year ago by a fisherman using his Hummingbird Fish Finder. It was a challenge to free the plane from the mud and silt of 65 years on the bottom but after a week it finally came up! The divers said there was zero visability around the plane!

Seeing the WWII Helldiver!
On Thursday we enjoyed the afternoon at the Pacific Beach Pier. Jeri and I walked through the shops while Ted and Stach lazed on the patio of their cabin on the pier. Lots of people watching going on! We had dinner at the Green Flash. Sadly there was no flash! Jeri and Stach's grandson, Trent, joined us for dinner.
