Yep, still waiting!

Time is going slow and fast all at the same time, so excited to get our motorhome! We went by La Mesa RV on Sunday and they are still saying August 10th.  Things are going to be tight to have a party, load up all 21 boxes from storage and get on the road to get to Chama, New Mexico by the 26th of August!

But we have been keeping busy.  Ted had lunch with his friends Jeff and Eddie from his Reynard Arms Apartments days.  Ted made a group of friends that he met at the apartments when he was in his early 20's (a loooong time ago) and he sees Jeff and Eddie in San Diego and we visit with Bill and Ginny in Missouri.  Jeff had returned from a month's hiking trip in Europe visiting some of the old communist blocked countries so he filled them in on his trip.  They had lunch at the Harbor Island Marina where Eddie's son is the chef!  We had gotten married there in 2000!  They had a good visit.

Ted came home and got me and Sophie and we went to Tony and Gina's to celebrate Mallorie and Trent's birthdays.  Mallorie is the 12th (which happens to be the day I met Ted back in 1998) and Trent's is the 26th.  Sophie got to meet Halo their puppy and had a lot of fun chasing him!  He would turn and chase her and she'd run for cover!  She liked being the chaser and not the chasee!  They had fun and we had a beautiful afternoon by the pool to celebrate the kids' birthdays!

Sophie relaxing while Halo keeps his eye on her!

Gina fixed Stach a rum and coke....now that's a rum and coke!  Tony is cooking hamburgers and hotdogs!

We have mostly been spending time with Sophie but we got a pen for her and have started leaving her alone a little at a time!  On thursday we left her for a little while and had lunch with Guy, one of Ted's former co-workers at the county of San Diego!  He's a really nice guy and Sophie didn't
like being by herself.  She had dumped over her water and chewed on her bed a little bit.

We had dinner with my friend Peggy on Friday evening and Sophie did better, didn't chew up anything and her water dish was intact!  She goes a little crazy running around when we get home but settles down and takes a nap pretty quickly!

On Saturday, we left her again and went to the movies with Peggy.  We saw World War Z.  It was entertaining but not a great movie.  We hurried home after the movie to make sure Sophie was doing okay!

On Sunday we had lunch with our friends Jeri and Stach.  Sophie is doing a little better each time with us being gone.

Last night I attended a jewelry party at Gina's house with Jeri (Jeri and Stach's daughter-in-law).  It was fun to see some of her family and friends I had not seen for awhile.   The jewelry is Silpada and I found a pair of earrings to buy.  It is really pretty jewelry and goes from $20 on up.  They have earrings, necklaces, charms, bracelets and rings.  Ted and Sophie spent the evening with Stach.

On Monday, we go back up to Menifee for a week.  We will be back on the 5th of August!  Hopefully we will get good news and the RV will come in early!  I keep hoping!  LOL

A cute picture of my sister that she sent me!  She's a teacher down in Mexico near Vera Cruz.

Still waiting!

Yes we are still waiting for the new motorhome which is not due in until August 10, 2013, but I keep hoping it will be in early!

In the meantime, we are keeping busy!  Ted had lunch with his friend, David Prime, on Wednesday the 10th.  On Thursday we met Jeri and Stach and their grandson, Trent (the baseball player), their granddaughter, Mallorie (the recent graduate) and her boyfriend.  Jeri's childhood friend, Sherri was visiting from Northern California and she joined us all for a picnic lunch at La Jolla Shores.  It was a beautiful day down there with little spits of rain every so often.  Sophie had a good time with all the attention she got from everyone!

Friday at noon I drove to Pacific Beach to the Alehouse to meet former co-workers from Hawkins and Scott, CPA firm.  I had worked with Bill Staley the longest and he gets the guys together once a month.  I was the mystery guest!  I had not seen most of them in quite a long time and it was fun catching up with them, seeing how they were doing and they all looked great!  Bill has retired and the other four have their own CPA practices.

Friday night Sherri (Jeri's friend) had a small group going to Lips so Jeri had never been and we decided to join them.  Our little group of 7 had a good time and a lot of laughs.  Sherri's friend Rene is from Texas and visiting San Diego with her Dad who is turning 80.  Rene and Lloyd went up on stage, Lloyd was a little embarrassed.  It was a fun evening!

On Sunday we drove up to Fullerton to watch Trent play baseball.  His traveling team, The Show, won both games they played on Saturday and they were in first place.  We got up there at noon and the Semi-final game started at 12:30ish!  They brought Trent in to play right field in the third inning.  He hit a great ground ball between 2nd and 3rd getting through to the outfield!  That hit brought in an RBI and he was safe at first!  Trent stole 2nd (the first of the game) and scored on a hit by one of his teammates!  The Show went on to win the game 14-4!

The Final game was supposed to start at 4:30 and finally started around 6:00 p.m.  Trent was brought in the 3rd inning and played right field for two innings, catching a great fly ball!  Trent came in to pitch in the fifth inning and closed out the game.  Score was 10-3 Show winning the tournament!  It was a very exciting game even though Show won by a lot!

The kids played great offensively and defensively and it showed!  Here they are getting their medals and fooling around a bit!  Trent is standing at the far right!

Ted had taken the baseball picture so when I downloaded it I also found this one of Sophie, far right by the pink dog and four of her five brothers and sisters.  They were all pretty cute, but think we got the best one (of course)!

There was also a great picture of Chip, our middle nephew on his camera!

More about Sophie!

Sophie had a good check up at the vet Sunday afternoon but really didn't like getting her temperature taken!  I guess it didn't bother her too much...

...she fell asleep waiting for the vet to come back!

On Monday we came back down to Pio Pico in Jamul.  There were no 50 amp spaces available so we parked on the north side and then crossed over Tuesday when a space became available.  So now we have 50 amps and can run two air conditioners!  Yay, we can beat the heat!

I went to girls night out last night and we went to see "The Heat" with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy.  It was really funny but a LOT of really bad language!  I don't see how they will be able to show that movie on tv!

This morning I had 5 hummingbirds on the feeder!  I took this picture of two of them.  I enjoy watching them!

Just in case you haven't seen enough pictures of Sophie, here are a couple more pictures!

Happy Belated July 4th

Hope everyone had a safe and fun Independence Day!

Our life for the past week has been all about Sophie!  She just turned 3 months old and is learning where to do her "business" if you know what I mean!  She's got those nice sharp baby alligator teeth and so she gets a toy stuffed in her mouth every time she goes to bite our fingers or chew on anything!  This is a cute, but painful stage in the life of a puppy!

Most nights Sophie sleeps 7 hours.  It's really funny but right before bed time she becomes a crazy girl! It's funny but then takes a while to wind her back down!  She's a little better about going outside but still doesn't like it.  She has definitely figured out how to get up the steps and as close to the door as her body can get!

Today we are taking her to get her stitches out and see what the vet thinks about her make and model!  Mainly we would just like to know if she's as healthy as she seems and how big she's going to get!  I've been taking a million pictures because with her "golden" color she's really easy to photograph.

Here's Sophie:

Since we are all about Sophie, we've just been trying to survive the heat here in Menifee.  We had four days over 100 and it got up to 84 inside in the late afternoon.  This campground only has 30 amps which won't support two air conditioners and unfortunately our generator is set up for 50 amps but as a 30 and a 20 so will not support two either.  Looking forward to our new motorhome!

Tomorrow we head back down to Pio Pico.  We will try and get a spot closer to the wifi hot spots.  Since we have to pay for it might as well be able to use it!
