RV Repair

The jack has been replaced and it is now able to hold weight. YIPEE! But we have to go back early tomorrow morning because they now have to rebuild the generator box from the holes they had to cut in it. We also have a tire on the RV that isn't holding air, so after the RV place finishes we have go to the tire place to get the tire fixed. Then while we are still pulling the trailer we have to go to the Ford place because the truck is lugging when we go up hills until the turbo kicks in! Now doesn't that sound like a fun Friday!

I'm thinking that's 3 things so if I'm superstitious, maybe that will be all!

At least I was able to read my James Patterson book today while waiting and Max was such a good puppy! Ted was busy pacing, watching, paying and stuff like that!

Hope all is well with our friends who may take time to read this and "AIN'T LIFE GRAND"!

Not so interesting Day 4 of the new blog!

Today was laundry day, boring! Did some reading and played with pictures too. Took Max for a couple of long walks, very relaxing day.
Word has it that the part we need for RV will be in tomorrow - we're keeping our fingers crossed it comes in, it's the right part and it fixes the problem!
Ted's cousin Gloria and her husband John came out to the campground and took us into Boerne for dinner at "Cheesy Janes". If you ever see one of those, they have good hamburgers and onion rings! John and Gloria are doing well and it's good to see them.
Have a great day tomorrow because: "AIN'T LIFE GRAND"!

This is the jack that won't hold any weight!
and of course you can't get to it easily!

So, they had to cut a hole in our generator compartment!

Blog Day 3!

Hi all. Well our RV did not get fixed today, after being at the RV place "all day"! The first and easy repair didn't work so they have to order a part (of course) and it was too late today (of course) so it will be tomorrow, which will be overnighted and hopefully be here Thursday. Since this is our home, our bed & breakfast (when I cook it) so to speak, they let us drive it back to the campground and we will return on Thursday. So tomorrow will be laundry day since we can't unhook and drive anywhere!

Our campground is full of cute deer so enjoy the picture of my "new friend!"

Take care all and "AIN'T LIFE GRAND"!

Boerne, Texas

We made it to Boerne Texas today through rain and lightning storms! It poured on us. We are at our campground and tomorrow have to take the RV in. The front passenger jack won't hold weight. We are still hooked to our truck and have an appointment to have it looked at tomorrow morning (early). Since it is our hotel, hopefully they can get it done in one day! We'll have to see what happens!

I'm looking out our window at a partially dried up lake and a bunch of deer, about 30! There are tons of deer at this campground and they just wander around all over (looking for a handout I think).

Today we have a better signal and I can finally add some pics!

Hope all is well with you! Just remember....AIN'T LIFE GRAND!

Easter morning snowfall in Albuquerque! Our RV is on the right side where the tree is!

Ted and Susan's New Blog - Day 1

Welcome to "Ted & Susan On the Road"!

We thought having a blog would be an easy way to let our friends know where we are and what we are up to!

We are now full-time RV'ers! Meaning we have rented the house in Lakeside and live in our 5th wheel full time! So far so good!

We left San Diego April 3, 2009 and make it all the way to the Colorado River! Spent 4 days at the river enjoying the 90 degree heat! Made our way to Casa Grande, Arizona (still hot) and then on to Silver City New Mexico - not so hot and very windy! Visited the Cliff Dwellings in Silver City, very interesting!

From there we made it to Albuquerque for Easter where we had 2 inches of snow - kid you not! We attended our first RV Rally where we attended seminars (like how to make a blog) and more, looked at RV's like a fancy motor home with an outside deck that folds up into the coach! We watched a "balloon glow" - spectacular!

From there we headed to Carlsbad and visited the Cavern! We descended down 750 feet into the cavern, it was unbelievable! Even more unbelievable was that we hiked over 2 1/2 miles! We also went to the Sitting Bull Falls. Waterfall in the desert that is spring fed! Amazing!

Today we made it to Ft. Stockton, Texas. We are headed for Boerne, Texas (30 miles north of San Antonio) tomorrow to visit Ted's cousin Gloria and her husband John. We also have to have an RV repair done :(

That's enough for our first blog. We will add pictures and hopefully you will enjoy traveling along with us!

We just have to add: "AIN'T LIFE GRAND!"
