On Thursday Trent had another baseball game. The first inning didn't start well and Trent's team, the Trojans, were behind. The Trojans were also short one player. Then the Trojans tied the score and then went ahead. Trent pitched 3 great innings with no one scoring and only 27 pitches! The other team went ahead again and we passed them again! They almost caught us again in the last inning but a great play was made on 2nd for the third out and the tying run didn't count! Very exciting for our team, sad for the other team. The first game we went to when we got in town, the same thing happened to the Trojan's!
Friday we had to cancel a lunch appointment, poor Max was not holding down his food. Of course he tossed his cookies at 4:00 a.m. I cooked some rice and he's been okay since then and seems to be more perky! Trent has a game at noon today so hope Max will be okay. At least when he got sick at 4 he was on the tile, sometimes he ends up on the carpet!

Meals with friends and visiting the Midway!
On Sunday afternoon we were off to Filippi's in Jamul to meet our friend Jeff. He's such an interesting guy and it was great hearing about some of his travels. He takes a big trip every year and is trying to go to every continent, must be the teacher in him! He is quite a hiker and travels to a lot of out of the way places to go hiking. We had a good pizza (as always) and good conversation.
On Monday we had lunch with Ted's classmate Steve and his wife Kathe. We were at the Black Angus off of Mission Gorge and had a nice long lunch. Our lunch was good and we enjoyed a nice long visit with Steve and Kathe.
Tuesday we picked up our friend Peggy and had lunch at the Mission Valley Cafe. We enjoy this chain of Cafe's. After lunch we went down to San Diego Harbor and toured the Midway. The ship was commissioned as the largest ship in the world in 1945 and was the first ship too large for the Panama Canal. The ship had a crew of 4,500 (there are a lot of towns with a lot less people)! In the 47 years of service there were 40 skippers of the Midway! We couldn't believe just how big the ship is. If you are on deck you can't even see all the way to the other end! It's huge!
Today we met Jeri and Stach at Baronna for a little gambling and lunch. I had a little luck for awhile but poor Ted just couldn't get anything going. They had a couple new machines, one being Elvis that was a lot of fun. We left a donation but had a delicious lunch on the patio of the Cafe. We had a nice view of the golf course and the lake, a good relaxing lunch with Jeri and Stach!

Great San Diego weather!
We have really been enjoying the San Diego weather, not too hot or too cold and mostly sunny! Just beautiful.
On Friday we had lunch with one of Ted's high school classmates, Rusty Coole. We went to the Filippe's in Escondido. It is one of the really good Filippe's. We got caught up with Rusty and had a good lunch.
On Saturday morning, very early, we picked up Jeri for Trent's baseball game. It was really exciting! It may have been more exciting because his team won, don't know, but it was sure fun. There were two home runs and for their ages this is pretty unusual. One was from the other team and one from our team, both got a standing O! There were lots of great defensive plays and our team was hitting on all cylinders! The coach had just moved Trent to third in the last inning, he bobbled the ball, threw to first and got the last out of the game! So exciting! He also played center field and a ball came almost to the fence and he caught it for the out and another one hit the fence, he got it on the bounce off the fence and threw out the runner at second base. He has a very strong arm.
Today we've been hanging out and getting some things done. We are meeting a friend, Jeff, for dinner in a couple of hours. We have a busy week coming up and it should be a lot of fun, before we take off on the 1st of May.

Enjoying baseball!
Yesterday we had dinner at Jeri and Stach's house before going to Trent's baseball game. Unfortunately his team lost but it was an exciting game. Tony and Gina have gotten Trent a pitching coach but he's had only one session. They had him pitch two innings and it wasn't pretty, felt so bad for him, just couldn't find his zone, but was proud of him because he never gave up! At least the rest of his game was spot on! He had two really good hits and two walks. He got a grounder at third, threw it to second for an out! He caught two flies out in center field and on another play he got the ball off the fence and threw the runner out at second.
After the game we watched Survivor with Jeri and Stach. It's really interesting and the Survivors never cease to amaze me with their strategies or lack thereof!
Today Ted's having lunch with an old friend. Also our friend Peggy is coming for dinner!

Enjoying the beautiful weather!
The weather here in San Diego is just great, not too hot, sunny with a slight breeze. Love it like this!
Yesterday we got the awning over the large slide replaced. They get a bit torn in all the weather we have been in over the past six years! I can't believe we got our RV six years ago and have been full time 3 1/2 years! We are really enjoying traveling.
Today is nails, dinner with Jeri and Stach, watching Trent play baseball and Survivor! Still watching after all these years! It will be a fun day and we hope Trent's team wins!

Pio Pico and cell/internet service!
We left Wilderness Lakes last Tuesday. We stopped by South Coast RV to have a new refrigerator "mother board" put in. We won't know if it fixed the problem until it gets to 32 degrees outside, we can only hope its fixed!
Ted had noticed that the back of the RV wasn't tracking right after the new tire was put on in Las Vegas so we also asked South Coast to take a look. They found that the 3rd axle, the one replaced in Gallop, NM last summer was put on upside down. Apparently you order them to be either like this ( or like ) (except it would be horizontal)! At South Coast they had ordered it the wrong way and replaced the brackets so it would be correct but the one installed at Gallop was on wrong. So when we leave San Diego on May 1st we will stop back there so they can put on new brackets and reverse it. Hopefully it won't take too long!
We've been keeping busy visiting friends and with the rain, Ted finally had time to put up our outside antenna yesterday for our internet/cell service. It usually will give us some service, but not this time. Fortunately they have a new plan here and we bought two weeks of computer time so at least we can communicate by email. Still won't have cell service unless we leave the area, which we usually do most days.
This week we saw Trent (our friend's Jeri and Stach's grandson) play baseball, his sister Mallorie play vollyball, had lunch with our friend Peggy and some dinners with Jeri and Stach. It's good to visit with our friends! Last Friday I drove Jeri and Mallorie to Grossmont Center (Jeri had hip surgery two weeks ago) so Mallorie could try on dresses for her junior prom. She found a dress and she will look beautiful for prom! I'm not allowed to post her picture until after the prom! Jeri and I had front row seats watching these beautiful young women trying on dresses, it was fun! Yesterday afternoon Ted and I actually did a fun jigsaw puzzle!
Our finished jig saw puzzle!
Thank heavens for internet service..."Ain't Life Grand!"

Happy Easter!
On Friday afternoon I went down to San Diego. Toni cut and colored my hair for me and then I met the GNO girls at Islands in Mira Mesa. We had dinner and celebrated Paula's birthday. After dinner we went to the office of Paint N Vineyard. You go there and have a painting lesson. You choose a day you want to go by the date or by the picture they are painting on that day and they show you how to paint it. It was such fun. There were the six of us and probably ten or fifteen other ladies. He did say that men come too, usually a couples event. There are different artists depending on the picture you choose. Our artist, Jeff, had a good sense of humor and made it seem pretty easy! It was $35.00 and included the paint, canvas, brushes and stand. We brought our own wine and wine glasses!

On Saturday Ted and I went to a local shopping center. We had breakfast at the Breakfast Club, very good! We ran some errands and then took a ride. We went over to the Perris Airport and drove around the area.
For Easter we bought a ham and I put it in to bake early in the morning. We took it down to San Diego to Jeri and Stan's house. It was such a pretty day we sat outside on their patio. The flowers were all in bloom (Stan ordered them to bloom for us) and their waterfall made nice ambiance! Their son Tony and his family came over. They brought salad and we had ham and cheese sandwiches and macaroni salad. For dessert we had gotten lemon bites from Costco...yummy and Stan got chocolate cupcake bites! We then watched the Masters golf tournament and Jeri and I played "Draw Some" on our phones with Trent and Mallorie! It was such a nice relaxing Easter!
Stephen, our youngest nephew, posted this picture of he and his girlfriend Marissa on Easter day on Facebook! They are a cute couple!
A lovely Easter..."Ain't Life Grand!"

Yesterday we headed down to San Diego. Our friend Jeri had fallen last year and had a partial hip replacement. Unfortunately she had problems with the fit, but couldn't it fixed because she broke a bone in her foot and fell and broke a couple of ribs! Truly her husband isn't beating her up, her hip problem caused the other problems! Last Thursday they did a full hip replacement. She came home on Monday and is doing great so we went to see for ourselves! She really is doing so much better than last time!
After our visit with Jeri, we met our friend Peggy at Corvette Diner. Her nephew, his wife and two little sons came out from Kansas for vacation. We had a fun, but long dinner with them, Peggy, her Dad and her son. It was the youngest boys' birthday. He is turning 3! The magician came by and helped entertain the boys. We waited a very long for our dinner, but they do make a great burger!

Now at Wilderness Lakes
We met Craig and Claire at PF Chang's for wine and appetizers. Really enjoy spending time with them. Then we went to an upscale burger place. Claire's Mom and Dad, Linda and Ernie, were on their way home from Sacramento and stopped by and had a glass of wine with us. It was good visiting with them.
We left Fresno yesterday morning and arrived in Menifee California at our Thousand Trails Wilderness Lakes campground yesterday afternoon. We drove over the Tehachapi Mountains and through Mojave to get here. We could see snow on the Sierra Nevada mountains and then we could see snow on Mt. Baldy and Big Bear. Here is a picture of Baldy:
We got everything set up including our outside chairs and rug and Ted and I settled in with Max, a glass of wine, some pita chip, french onion dip and music on our jambox! The temperature was just perfect and the sun was just going down. It doesn't get any better!
